Brand Spotlight: David Beckham

Brand Spotlight: David Beckham

David Beckham is a household name across the world thanks to his sporting career. He is one of football’s biggest names and with his famous wife, Victoria, he is also half of one of the world’s biggest power couples.

Beckham retired from football in 2013, but he remains in the spotlight. He is more than just a famous ex-footballer – he is also a brand in his own right.

The Beckham range now offers everything from David Beckham aftershave to David Beckham eyewear, which means that we can now purchase all sorts of branded items from this iconic sports superstar.

The icon behind the brand

Beckham, or Becks as he is affectionately known, was just eleven years old when his journey in the world of sports began. A young kid with big ambitions, he won a football competition before he even hit his teens.

He then went on to compete in Manchester United’s youth squad before starting his professional career just a few years later.

Becks helped his team gain one victory after another during his very successful career with Manchester United. He then moved on to other sporting successes overseas, including stints with Real Madrid and AC Milan.

In 2013, Becks finally kicked off his football boots for the final time and retired at the ripe ‘old’ age of 38 with hundreds of millions in the bank, a famous pop-star wife and a firm place in the annals of sporting history. Not bad for an East London lad!

Beckham the fashion icon

One other thing that Becks has become known for over the years is his fashion sense and unique style. He’s stepped out in everything from that famous sarong to dapper suits, with his outfits splashed across the covers of many magazines and newspapers.

Becks has enjoyed success as a model, shown off his physique for all the world to see in his socks and undies and made casual outfits look chic!

David Beckham has made his mark in the fashion industry not only because of what he wears but as a fashion brand. Many men flock to follow his style and achieve that classic ‘Beckham’ look by rushing out to buy Beckham-branded attire.

In his latest fashion venture, Beckham signed a multi-year deal with the world-famous Hugo Boss, so fans and fashionistas can look forward to some incredible outfits designed by the superstar himself.

The eyewear ranges from Becks

Beckham’s talents don’t just run to designing clothes – he is also known for fabulous accessories with global appeal. His eyewear range of eyewear is hugely popular, with options catering to a range of tastes and pockets.

The David Beckham eyewear collection offers everything from chic and trendy styles to retro and nerdy yet incredibly cool ones. Becks has launched both eyeglasses and sunglasses, making it easy to find the perfect eyewear from his range.

It can be challenging to find a combination of quality and style with eyewear, but it’s pretty simple with the David Beckham range. What’s more, these glasses are very reasonably priced given that they are from a fashion icon and global superstar.

Beckham’s sunglasses and eyeglasses collections

You will find everything from square, round, oval and aviator options in Beckham’s eye range, with glasses to suit every face shape. There are also full-rim and semi-rimless options, a variety of colours and frame designs and a choice of lens colors.

Whether you want to look cool while driving to work or chill out when hitting the beach, this sunglasses range has all bases covered.

The sunglasses collection from David Beckham also comes with plenty of options. It includes everything from rectangular and square frames to oval and round ones, with a choice of frame materials and colours.

There are glasses that are ideal for casual wear, work, formal occasions, glamorous events and more.

This range also offers a host of designs and styles, from retro to modern. There are even options with clip-on shades for added convenience and value for those who want to shield their eyes from the sun and still be able to see!

Brand Spotlight: Hugo Boss

Brand Spotlight: Hugo Boss

If you’re looking for design innovation plus stylish and elegant appeal, look no further than HUGO BOSS.

This global business epitomizes luxury throughout its entire range of clothing, shoes, accessories, men’s and women’s fragrance lines and of course, eyewear.

Let’s take a look at where it all started and find out how the HUGO BOSS brand flows through into its eyewear collection.

Origins of HUGO BOSS

HUGO BOSS began in Germany in 1924 and while it’s now a sophisticated, exclusive brand, it didn’t start that way. Founded by Hugo Ferdinand Boss, it originally sold far more mundane items. Think workwear, shirts, jackets, raincoats and some sportswear.

In the 1930s and ’40s, HUGO BOSS primarily supplied army uniforms. Then in 1948, Hugo Boss died and his son-in-law took the helm. The company pivoted again and began to produce men’s suits.

The business also revisited its original product lines of casual wear and sportswear and added a range of women’s wear and accessories. In 1970, the iconic BOSS men’s collection was launched.

Throughout the ’70s and ’80s, the HUGO BOSS brand grew in popularity worldwide by strategically sponsoring sports events, including motorsports and golf.

Then, as the company continued to expand in the 1990s, it decided to split the umbrella brand, HUGO BOSS, into sub-brands to cater to different customers.

These included the fun and progressively styled HUGO, the more classically tailored BOSS and Baldessarini, with an ethos of freedom and independence.

Also launched in the ‘90s, BOSS Orange integrated the styles of HUGO and BOSS into a more casual look that even included denim.

BOSS Green (a sportswear and athleisure range originally known as BOSS Golf Wear) celebrated the company’s involvement in golf sponsorship. And BOSS Black featured smart-casual yet very tailored items with just a hint of sportswear about them.

Around the 2000s, BOSS Women’s Wear was launched, focusing on smart, tailored, mix-and-match pieces in high-quality fabrics. This collection is designed to be dressed up or down to take the modern women from work into evening engagements.

And, not to leave out the rest of the family, HUGO BOSS Kids keeps your little ones dressed to the nines too.

Now owned by the Valentino fashion group, HUGO BOSS continues to add more than a touch of class to the fashion world, with global sales of over €4 billion.

So where do HUGO BOSS glasses fit into all of this? In 1989, the company started producing eyewear and has never looked back.

HUGO BOSS glasses manufacturing

Taking their cue from the rest of this iconic brand, BOSS glasses and BOSS sunglasses for men and women are made from high-quality materials and crafted for both style and functionality.

They’re produced by the Safilo Group, an Italian eyewear company that deals in high-end frames.

As with everything HUGO BOSS, sophistication and attention to detail are hallmarks of their glasses collection too.

With a focus on sleek design and innovation, their frames are also comfortable to wear and durable enough to handle your day, no matter what it brings.

Popular HUGO BOSS styles

The HUGO BOSS collection of glasses features styles that cover all your needs – and it’s worth noting that the HUGO and BOSS sub-groups apply here too.

Sustainability and social initiatives

HUGO BOSS engages in many sustainability and social initiatives. It belongs to the Fair Labor Association, contributes to charities and is also implementing sustainability practices wherever possible throughout the value chain.

For example, the company now manufactures eco-friendly glasses made from recycled and biobased materials and is working to reduce waste and CO2 emissions.

Brand Spotlight: Kate Spade

Kate Spade’s story is both heartwarming and tragic. Starting from humble beginnings, this American fashion talent took her chic handbag line from local to global, earning a permanent place in the fashion industry and in the hearts of all her fans.

Years after her untimely death, a Kate Spade bag is still an accessory coveted by women around the world. The late designer will continue to live on through the legacy of all the beauty she created during her lifetime.

Let’s take a step back in time to explore how she got from Kansas City to the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.

Who was Kate Spade?

Born Katherine Noel Brosnahan in Kansas City, Missouri, Kate never planned to be a fashion designer. Instead, she studied journalism at Arizona State University.

She met her future husband, Andy Spade, while they were both working in a clothing store and when she graduated in 1985, the couple moved to New York City.

There she was hired by Condé Nast as an assistant and worked her way up to become the senior fashion editor and head of accessories at Mademoiselle magazine.

With no desire to take the next logical step of becoming a fashion director, she began to explore other options. The idea for making her own handbags was born over dinner at a Mexican restaurant and Andy became her business partner.

The Kate Spade brand is born

The first Kate Spade bag was designed using sheets of paper, Scotch-taped together. With no background in design, Spade figured it out as she went along and you’ll still see that iconic, sleek yet utilitarian look in Kate Spade products today.

In 1993, the Kate Spade brand was officially founded with just six styles. Although they married a year later, at that point she was still Kate Brosnahan and the brand name was a combination of her and Andy’s names.

At a trade show, Kate’s bags caught the eye of buyers from Fred Segal and Barney’s. Even so, it took several more years before the Kate Spade line began to make a profit.

The rise of Kate Spade

Then in 1996, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awarded Spade the New Fashion Talent in Accessories prize – and everything changed. Later, in 1998, she also won the CFDA Best Accessory Designer award – by then, the Kate Spade brand was taking off.

The first Kate Spade store opened in SoHo. With the help of high-profile magazine features and celebrity endorsements, the new fashion brand expanded to Los Angeles, Boston and Tokyo.

The sophisticated look of the bags made them a statement piece, while still retaining a down-to-earth feel.

In 1999, the Neiman Marcus Group bought a majority share (later sold to Liz Claiborne). The Spades stayed on and the company branched out into home decor, clothing, shoes, jewellery and fragrances, amongst other things.

For a few years, the company also created sub-brands called Kate Spade Saturday, a more casual line of handbags and clothes and Jack Spade, a menswear line.

Kate Spade moves on

Woman wearing Kate Spade sunglasses

Then in 2006, Spade sold the brand to focus on raising her child, Frances Beatrix Spade.

Ten years later, in partnership with some friends, she and Andy launched a new accessories venture, Frances Valentine. To separate the Kate Spade brand from her personal life, Kate changed her name to Kate Valentine, which was a family name.

A too-short life

On Tuesday morning, June 5, 2018, designer Kate Spade unfortunately passed away due to suicide. Following this sad event, Kate Spade New York reaffirmed their commitment to the mental health program they’d been running for some years.

After the designer’s passing, Spade’s niece shared a heartwarming video of Spade on Instagram. Chelsea Clinton also shared on X that she’d received her first Kate Spade bag from her grandmother in college and still had it.

Kate Spade eyewear

Kate Spade’s combination of style and practicality flows through into the Kate Spade eyewear line. And no matter your age, these pieces inspire you to live life to the fullest!

Kate Spade’s tagline of “Live colourfully” perfectly reflects her vibrant, playful style.

In the collection, you’ll find classically elegant, feminine designs with vintage-inspired yet modern shapes. Think oval, cat eye and butterfly silhouettes.

Blue frame Kate Spade eyeglasses

These play with bold colours, gorgeous two-tones and distinctive accents like stripes, polka dots, or tortoiseshell prints. You’ll also find charming, more whimsical designs with fun patterns or floral motifs that add more than a touch of joy to your day.

Flower pattern frame Kate Spade eyeglasses

To check you have an authentic pair of glasses, look for the Kate Spade – New York branding and certification ID on the temple arm.

Kate Spade glasses and sunglasses aren’t cut-price, but we believe they’re worth the investment. Plus when you buy them, you can rest easy with SmartBuyGlasses’ Best Price Guarantee and 100-day Return Policy.

Kate Spade would be proud.

Versatile Frames for Versatile Lenses: The Best Frames for Transitions®

Versatile Frames for Versatile Lenses: The Best Frames for Transitions®

If you suffer from light sensitivity and wear prescription glasses, you understand the inconvenience of carrying both prescription glasses and sunglasses. Luckily, modern eyewear technology has come up with a clever solution: Transitions® lenses.

What are Transitions® lenses?

Transitions® produces photochromic lenses, also known as light intelligent lenses. These light adaptive lenses remain clear indoors, then turn dark outdoors.

Their adaptable lens tint is designed to ensure optimal vision while protecting your eyes from bright sunlight, reducing glare and eye fatigue.

man wearing transition glasses

Photochromic glasses use advanced technology to adapt the lens tint to lighting conditions. Originally, these lenses contained either silver halide or silver chloride, which darkens when exposed to UV light from the sun.

Nowadays, they’re more likely to have special dyes in the lens material.

Transitions® glasses lenses remain fully clear indoors while other photochromic lenses retain a slight tint.

The transition speed of photochromic lenses from dark to clear, once UV exposure stops, varies by brand but tends to be quicker in warmer temperatures.

Since direct sunlight’s UV exposure can be harmful, the best eyewear for Transitions® lenses also provides full UVA and UVB protection. You can find a sticker confirming UV protection on the lens.

The best frames for transition lenses

While many different styles of glasses are suitable for this adaptive technology, there are some factors to consider when choosing the best frames for your Transitions®:

Larger frames

Larger frames work perfectly indoors and provide extra coverage from harmful UV rays when outdoors.

However, it is important to choose the correct size for you: if they sit above your eyebrows at the top, or touch your cheek at the bottom, you might want to look for a smaller size.

Your prescription

Photochromic technology can be combined with prescription lenses, providing both vision correction and protection from bright light.

To find the best frames for transition lenses, make sure they are compatible with your prescription types, whether they are readers, single-vision, or progressive lenses.

Frame and lens colours

Nowadays, the best transition lenses come in a range of colours, allowing you to find a shade that complements both your style and chosen frames.

For example, these ultra-feminine Chloé butterfly glasses come with dainty gold rims and lenses that turn a beautiful brown in the sun.

Chloé CH0097O 004

The lenses of these far more masculine Mont Blanc glasses, with black and gold frames, turn blue when exposed to UV light.

Mont Blanc MB0295S 005

Another option is this pair of unisex Salice Nero glasses, which have an unusually shaped single lens that shifts to grey in bright light.

Salice 004 ITA RWX NERO/RW BLU

Transition glasses are convenient and versatile, being an ideal choice for everyday wear, regardless of the frame and lens colours you choose.

You’ll find all the best frames for transition lenses – and so much more – at SmartBuyGlasses. Every one of our top-quality products is covered by our 100-day return guarantee and 24-month warranty.

Just choose your favourite pair of transition glasses from our selection and you’ll never have to worry about carrying multiple pairs of glasses at once again.

The Best of 2024 Fashion Trends

The Best of 2024 Fashion Trends

By SmartBuyGlasses Editorial Team

two women wearing fashion sunglasses

As time passes, things evolve. This can be seen everywhere: from technology and the content we consume to the fashion choices we make.

The evolution of fashion doesn’t just happen over the years, but also seasons. These seasonal trends mean that there’s a lot to follow and this can be overwhelming at times.

Fashion today is not just limited to functional choices– it’s also about self-expression, reflecting our opinions and the way we carry ourselves. That’s why it’s so important to stay on top of the trends and what they mean.

And if you don’t have the time? Don’t worry, we’re here to help.

Many 2024 trends have emerged to give people the representation they deserve, so here’s a summary. These are the 2024 trends that have revolutionised our clothing and accessories.

Top fashion trends of 2024

From runway inspiration to street style, these are the 2024 fashion trends that have left a mark. Featured on all the trend reports, some of these may even be here to stay, so what are you waiting for? Come check them out.

1. Bold prints and patterns

This year has seen the comeback of patterns, with a twist. Whilst the previous years featured more minimalistic patterns with neutral colours and tones, this year maximalism has returned.

Bold patterns are everywhere, with bright colour tones that celebrate uniqueness and make a statement. Examples include the big floral designs adopted by Versace and Gucci designs.

floral design Versace

This trend brought back colours that had previously passed under the radar and loud prints that dominated both collections and fashion news feeds.

Designers went big and bold on eyewear too, choosing styles that attract attention and make statements.

For example, we saw a resurgence of animal prints in designer sunglasses and eyeglasses frames. And what’s not to love? Pair these with an oversized jacket and you’re good to go.

2. Gender-neutral fashion

This year has been pivotal in the ongoing ascent of gender-neutral trends, with more and more companies adopting this inclusive style.

This doesn’t refer to just clothing, even accessories which have always been more gender-specific have now become more inclusive.

For example, certain eyewear styles that have always been considered women-wear such as cat-eye frames have now made the leap to gender-neutral territory.

Unisex glasses were also in high demand. With their simple geometries, discreet colours and evergreen styles, these frames are intended to suit the face shape and preference of as many people as possible.

man and woman wearing floral design Gucci

This trend shows that the fashion industry has started to change its attitude towards matters of personal style. Brands are progressing in a good direction, following a society that is more diverse and less focused on gender roles.

For example, big brand names like Telfar and Tom Ford have introduced unisex styles to their collections, as seen with the iconic unisex leather jackets and genderless denim skirts.

Other examples of this versatile clothing style include sweater vests, relaxed blazers, wide-legged pants and large shirts.

The non-binary fashion trend is about liberation and autonomy. It allows people to make personal fashion statements outside of the limitations of ‘boyswear’ or ‘girlswear.’

3. Sustainability takes centre stage

Sustainability is no longer just a buzzword– it’s a growth engine for the fashion industry. Trend reports suggest that more and more brands have been going green and joining eco-friendly pioneers like Stella McCartney and Patagonia.

This change has also been seen in the eyewear industry. More eco-friendly glasses are being made from sustainable materials such as recycled plastic and biodegradable acetate.

Upcycling frames and purchasing vintage eyewear have also grown in popularity! We have this season’s vintage fall fashion trend to thank for that.

A similar approach has been seen with clothing where sustainable materials are now key. The most common ones include organic cotton, hemp and even pineapple leather.

Aside from that, customers are also encouraged to invest in vintage and high-quality fashion that provides well-made items built to last longer and support the slow fashion movement.

4. Metallic details

Today’s eyewear products are getting more luxurious and metallic details are pioneering this change. Rose gold, silver and gold frames are growing in popularity and this year has seen a lot of thin metal frames with a minimalistic and elegant feel.

unisex frames

5. Chunky and oversized accessories

Chunky and big accessories continue their rise to fame. These have been around in the fashion scene for some time now, but 2024 has really taken them up a notch.

This year’s biggest trends in this regard are oversized sunglasses and giant handbags that liven up even the most basic ensembles.

eco-friendly frames

Big, structured totes and oversized, slouchy bags are no longer just for moms, and style lovers are relieved to finally be able to carry a wallet, phone, makeup and water with room to spare.

In 2024, fashion has continued evolving towards self-expression. People are embracing bold prints, gender-neutral styles, sustainable practices and comfort, helping develop fashion into something not only innovative but also responsible.

Optimise Your Workspace with the Best Computer Glasses Frames for You

Optimise Your Workspace with the Best Computer Glasses Frames for You

Over the last couple of decades, computer use has skyrocketed. All those long hours in front of your screen can take a toll on your eye health and your sleep patterns. Luckily, computer glasses can help.

That’s why you should learn about them and what the best computer glasses you can get your hands on are.

Why you need computer glasses

Whether you use a laptop, a smartphone, or some other digital device, there’s a good chance you’ve experienced some form of digital eye strain. Symptoms like eye fatigue, blurred vision, dry eyes and headaches are very common.

man with glasses looking at the screen

If you tend to work late or love to game into the early hours, you should also know that too much screen time at night disrupts your circadian rhythm.

Luckily computer glasses can make a huge difference as they can reduce eye strain, restore your sleep patterns and help you focus for longer.

They’re not all the same though and can have very different features. Here’s what we think you should look out for.

Blue-light blocking lenses

The bright blue light emitted from digital screens is a natural part of the visible light spectrum. During the day, it helps you stay awake and focused on the task at hand.

It’s not so good for you at night though, as it interferes with melatonin production, which helps you fall and stay asleep. This is why the result of too much screen time at night can be poor-quality sleep. Blue light blocking glasses can help counteract that.

The best computer glasses frames have a blue light block applied to the lenses to reduce the amount of harmful blue light that reaches your eyes.

This might sound similar to what sunglasses do, but they don’t work in the same way as blue light glasses. Instead, they block light across the spectrum. This makes your eyes work harder and increases the chance of eye strain when looking at a screen.

blue light frames

Blue light blocking glasses can achieve their goal of blocking blue light in different ways, depending on the brand. Some have clear lenses while others have a light tint.

You’ll also see other glasses with tinted lenses in yellow and amber shades – these usually block the most light.

Vision correction

Your computer screen should sit about an arm’s length away from you. If you have good vision in that range, you can simply buy blue light filter glasses with non-prescription lenses.

That said, if you have trouble seeing clearly at that distance you’ll probably need prescription lenses. Start with a visit to your eye doctor, who will give you the right prescription to correct your vision.

Then when you order your new prescription glasses, be sure to add the blue light block coating to the lenses and you’ll be set.

Anti-reflective coating

Computer screens tend to shine brightly, which creates a lot of glare. This causes the eyes to work harder and tire more quickly.

That screen light can also reflect off normal lenses during a work call and make it difficult to see your eyes, which can affect how people perceive you.

That’s why the best computer glasses have an anti-reflective coating on the lens to reduce glare, protecting both your eyes and your professional relationships.

Where to find the best computer glasses frames for you

Brand Spotlight: Polaroid

Brand Spotlight: Polaroid

If you love to spend time outdoors skiing, sailing, fishing, or lounging on the beach, you probably–or should–own a pair of polarised sunglasses.

Invented by Polaroid, polarised lenses filter the glare that reflects off shiny surfaces like water, snow, or sand, making bright environments much more comfortable to navigate.

What you may not know is that the Polaroid brand began as a dream of a Harvard student. It first started as a small company, but slowly grew into a high-tech eyewear and electronics emporium.

Today, the brand focuses on helping us all see and appreciate the special moments that make us feel more connected to others– and that’s something we can all do with more of.

So how did Polaroid start?

Early beginnings

Edwin Land was born in Connecticut in 1909. After finishing school, he was accepted to Harvard University but left to pursue his vision of creating sunglasses that reduced glare.

Along with his business partner George Wheelwright, Land founded Land-Wheelwright Laboratories in 1932 and began working on methods to polarise light.

After extensive research and experimentation, Land finally invented Polaroid, the first polarising material for commercial use.

In 1937, the company was incorporated and established in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as the Polaroid Corporation. The first product sold by the new company was Polaroid Day Glasses.

The innovation continues

Polarised sunglasses were the frontrunners in a streak of impressive innovations, including advanced optical equipment, 3D movie glasses and sports goggles, popular with both celebrities and military personnel.

In the 1940s, Polaroid branched out and decided to apply their technology to a different field, experimenting with cameras.

The research went well and eventually moved into production in 1948 with the first widely available instant camera, the Polaroid Model 95.

At first, these only produced black and white images, but in the ’60s the first coloured film was developed.

On the eyewear front, Polaroid’s Cool Ray sunglasses took the fashion world by storm in the 1950s. And a couple of decades later, the company launched polarised gradient lenses and styles with interchangeable lenses.

Polaroid continued to innovate over the years, developing products like medical equipment, floppy disks, identity verification equipment, as well as more technologically advanced cameras and an extensive range of eyewear.

Polaroid is sold

Despite the growth in product range, Polaroid was forced to file for bankruptcy protection in 2001. Many believe this was partly due to the business not fully embracing digital technology.

The company was sold to OEP Imaging Corporation, which became the Polaroid Holding Company, although it continued to operate as Polaroid Corporation.

The Polaroid brand is now owned by Safilo, with its headquarters in Padua, Italy. The full range of Polaroid products includes:

  • Cameras and film
  • Printers
  • Speakers
  • Apparel
  • Photography accessories, including photo albums, camera cases and bags
  • Eyewear

Polaroid eyewear

Polaroid glasses are designed to stand out. While you’ll certainly find neutral shades in the collection, there’s a focus on funky-coloured frames and interesting tinted lenses. Think purple, red and gold, just for starters.

Add some pattern and prints, or an embellishment or two, and you have a look that’s unique to the brand.

Whether you’re looking for Polaroid glasses or sunglasses, you’ll find a range of frame shapes just for you. From traditional round and oval frames to more modern square and rectangular styles, there’s a frame shape for every face.

This includes aviator and cat-eye silhouettes with a hint of retro, classic styles and innovative geometric models.

With this wide variety, there’s a Polaroid frame for everyone. To find the right one for you you can browse through their collections and if you’re still not sure, you can even use our Virtual Try-On tool.

And if sustainability is important to you, you’ll be happy to know that Polaroid cares for the environment too.

They use recycled metal and polycarbonate, bio-based materials like bio polyamide and bio rubber, and combinations of these, like Acetate Renew and TritanTM Renew.

Despite their innovative materials and quality craftsmanship, Polaroid glasses are very affordable. So what are you waiting for? Get your perfect pair of (glare-free) Polaroids today to see the world with new eyes.

Brand Spotlight: Miu Miu

Miu Miu is one of the most iconic fashion brands in the world. Known for its fun and slightly rebellious style, it’s beloved by celebrities and fashionistas alike.

While the brand is certainly high-end, Miu Miu’s youthful “street style” culture appeals to the independent and feminine modern woman – which makes sense, given who founded it.

Where Miu Miu started

Miu Miu is the brainchild of Prada founder, Miuccia Prada, and reflects her personal style. Fittingly, it takes its name from Miuccia Prada’s childhood nickname.

The company was established in 1992 as a more minimalistic, avant-garde and affordable subsidiary of Prada, targeting younger women in their 20s and 30s.

The business was publicly launched in 1993, with a cowgirl-themed collection that included patchwork skirts and fringed suede jackets.

In 2006 it launched its first womenswear collection at Paris Fashion Week and since then it has continued growing.

Today, the brand is widely popular around the world and has distribution points in all of the major fashion capitals, including New York, London and Milan.

But Miu Miu’s success doesn’t stop there. In fact, in 2024 the brand’s Spring show won “Best of the Year” at the Impression Awards, trending on social media and allowing it to reach an even wider audience.

Miu Miu for men

While Miu Miu has primarily focused on womenswear, it has always had a gender-bending feel to it. The company did sell menswear collections from 1999 to 2009, all of which had an androgynous feel to them.

More recently, men began to buy pieces from the womenswear collection, and as a response, the brand relaunched a collection specifically tailored to men in 2022.

Miu Miu grows up

Miu Miu’s status as a sister brand to Prada gives it plenty of credibility, yet, it’s constantly distinguishing itself through its more playful and provocative approach to elegance and its grown-up girlishness.

In 2005, Miu Miu got its own separate showroom in an Art Nouveau villa in Milan, an ideal location for this brand. The blueprints for all the first stores were developed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, which certainly added prestige to an already classy name.

Miu Miu marketing

From breathtaking models to actresses and singers, some of the most beautiful women in the world have acted as brand ambassadors for Miu Miu.

They were also often photographed by renowned photographers, which contributed to a stunning portfolio of images used to advertise the brand.

In addition, Miu Miu has made a series of short, silent films that showcase the brand’s collections. These were well produced and generally met with excitement by their audience, further establishing Miu Miu as a paragon of classy appeal.

Miu Miu now

The Miu Miu brand now has stores all over the world. The first independent store in China was launched in 2006, followed by Glasgow in Scotland, Melbourne in Australia and Tokyo in Japan.

The Sloane Street store in London stands out as it offers a service that allows customers to custom-design their own heels.

At the moment,  Miu Miu’s product range offers clothing and accessories, including shoes, bags, wallets, jewellery, as well as fragrances and, of course, eyewear.

Miu Miu eyewear

The Miu Miu eyewear line takes inspiration from the ethos of the womenswear collection, offering the same free-spirited character associated with the clothing line.

Classic style blends with a youthful, contemporary spirit, resulting in fashion-forward pieces for modern women.

Miu Miu’s prescription frames are licensed by Luxottica. They include sophisticated and ultra-feminine yet distinctive cat-eye styles, as well as more traditional rectangular and square shapes with a twist.

The designs are often innovative and avant-garde, drawing attention while highlighting your best features.

Chunky frames in bold colours stand out from the crowd while more delicate frames in interesting shapes offer a subtle charm that can’t be overlooked.

Miu Miu’s sunglasses line follows suit and embraces a distinctive, futuristic look. These are trending and quickly becoming some of the most well-loved collections out there.

The trendy geometric styles showcase unconventional shapes like pentagons, oversized frames that create a sense of mystery and blended designs with eye-catching tops and rimless. bottoms.

Miu Miu craftsmanship

Miu Miu’s well-known attention to detail ensures each piece is beautifully designed and crafted to flatter the wearer.

Frames are created from premium materials and often display unique patterns, accents of colourful acetate, or delicate crystals or pearls.

Whether your style is fun, unconventional, or elegant, Miu Miu eyewear has you covered. Order a pair of Miu Miu frames and flaunt your personality in style, you won’t regret it.

Brand Spotlight: Emporio Armani

Brand Spotlight: Emporio Armani

As anyone with good taste knows, Giorgio Armani is a brand that embodies timeless sophistication and understated style. Emporio Armani is a sub-brand of Giorgio Armani, which inherits its legacy and acts as a more budget-friendly spinoff.

Let’s find out how this elegant brand got started.

Who is Giorgio Armani?

Giorgio Armani is an Italian fashion designer, born in 1934. He began his career in medicine and later transitioned to architecture. However, he still wasn’t satisfied until around the age of 30 when he settled on his true passion for clothing design.

In 1975, he and Sergio Galeotti launched the Giorgio Armani label with a line of high-end, ready-to-wear clothing for men.

This was followed by a collection for women in 1976. Armani quickly rose to fame, supported by the many celebrities who chose to wear his clothes at high-profile events.

Emporio Armani is born

In the 80s Armani decided he wanted to make his clothing more accessible to younger people.

This is why in 1981 he launched the Emporio Armani line, which included denim jeans – at the time this was very innovative as denim had never before been worn as part of a high-end collection. From this experiment, the concept of designer jeans was born.

That same year, the first Emporio Armani store opened in Milan. The clothes sold there had a far freer and more welcoming feel than the main Giorgio Armani brand, appealing to a whole new generation of customers.

In 1988, the brand launched the Giorgio Armani eyewear line, which would later expand into the Emporio Armani eyewear collection.

Emporio Armani

Now with more than 170 stores around the world, Emporio Armani sells clothes for men, women and children, as well as bags, watches, gifts and eyewear.

Emporio Armani eyewear

Like all Armani products, Emporio Armani glasses and sunglasses are stylish and sophisticated. They’re designed in Italy, cut from premium Italian materials like ultra-lightweight titanium and stainless steel, and assembled by hand.

The Emporio Armani eyewear collection features both youthful and trendy styles designed to be worn as part of a more casual look and more formal designs that pair perfectly with sophisticated attires.

You’ll find a wide range of choices, from avant-garde to sporty options and everything in between.

If you like to stand out from the crowd, pick from a selection of bold-coloured and innovatively styled frames to find your perfect look.

Or if you prefer something a little more understated, simple black frames are always classic and elegant.

To ensure you’re buying a genuine pair of Emporio Armani glasses, look for the famous eagle logo, which should be embedded in both temple arms, close to the hinges. This powerful symbol guarantees elegant simplicity and the highest quality.

And if you’re buying sunglasses, you’ll usually also see the Emporio Armani signature engraved on the left lens.

Where to get Emporio Armani glasses

We have a wide range of Emporio Armani eyewear for you to choose from. And if you’re not sure which of your picks you like best, you can use our Virtual Try-On tool to see how you look.
